I’d say my struggles with my skin are common knowledge by now, and the quest to bring it back under my control is on going.
I bought this trio, with a few other little things that I definitely didn’t need- including the Ultra Facial Cream, you can never have too many moisturisers- at an event I attended waaaay back in December.
Honestly, I had no intentions to buy anything but the 20% off deal and my skin consultation swayed me! It was so nice to feel like what I was buying was specifically geared to my skin and not just generic combination/oily as that can mean so many different things! If you’ve got a Kiehl’s store nearby I would definitely suggest going in for a consultation, I learnt so much! They put some kind of device up to your face & it tells you how much moisture is in your skin. I was way less dehydrated than I expected seen as it was post 7pm & I’d probably had one glass of water all day!
I think I spent close to £80 in total and almost instantly regretted it! I’m not much of an impulse buyer and like to research everything first so this was definitely out of my comfort zone.
At first, I used the four products (Hydro-Plumping serum, Midnight Recovery Concentrate, Ultra Facial Cream and Avocado Eye cream) as directed by the Kiehl’s consultant, it the order above with 2 pumps of the serum, 2 drops of the Midnight recovery concentrate and a grain of rice sized portion of eye cream each night for a few weeks but failed to notice any difference! I went to bed feeling very greasy and woke up much the same- so I gave up and stopped using all but the Hydro-Plumping Re-Texturising Serum.
Then my skin regressed into desert like dryness and in desperation one night I used 5 drops of the Midnight Recovery Concentrate, warmed it between my hands and patted it onto my face. This was my ta-dah moment. I woke up with baby-soft skin.
For around a month now I’ve been using 2 pumps of the hydro-plumping serum, 4/5 drops of midnight recovery, and a tiny bit of eye cream and my skin is looking the best I’ve seen it in a long while! I think the moisturiser was far too heavy & much prefer the oil, especially as it sinks in so fast! I often use a couple of drops in the morning as well- one day I’ll get round to buying the morning version. Even better, I’ve barely made a dent in the 30ml so it’s made the initial spend seem so much better!
What’re your favourite skin saviours? I’d love to know! Especially if you’ve got any more oil/serum recommendations, I’ve got my eyes on Sunday Riley’s Luna & the Vichy Idelia Life Serum so if you’ve given either a go please let me know!
