Ever since I purchased the Murad mattifier, I have been in awe of it! Although quite a thick cream, almost glue like in texture, it smooths onto skin and disappears in an instant. The directions say to apply it liberally but I don’t find this to be necessary at all, a small squeeze covers your face easily!
I love it when I buy a product that has more than one use, I really feel like I’m getting your money’s worth and this is no exception. Not only is it a moisturiser, it also controls oil (for up to 8 hours), contains SPF (and doesn’t give flashback!), it’s non-comedogenic and it contains ingredients to fight breakouts and help keep them at bay! Moreover, it works fabulously as a primer, creating a smooth base that helps foundation go on flawlessly and last all day. In fact, it’s been my go to suggestion for anyone on the lookout for a primer for oily skin for around 6 months now- I don’t know why I haven’t shared it with you sooner!
Having all these uses in one product is a godsend for lazy skin girls (like me- I’m really trying to change this I promise!). Priced at around £30 it may seem expensive- it put me off for a long while- but it cancels out the need for so many other products it’s 100% worth it! (Also, it’s almost always on offer somewhere- the Murad website has 30% off at the minute, and feelunique regularly has some kind of discount)
I feel like many are forgetting about this product- with the turn towards radiance/luminosity, but that’s not always possible for us girls with combination or oily skin!
I really don’t think I could gush about this enough, I wore it all week when I went skiing recently and my skin did not get shiny at all and I swear by it when I’m putting make-up on for a night out/ a long day where I want to come home with my face still in tact. As it’s a moisturiser first and foremost, I don’t feel like I have an excess layer weighing me down and It doesn’t block up my pores or dehydrate my skin like so many other mattifying primers do!
I am aware that I suffer with extreme combination skin, with some areas incredibly dry and others a lot oiler that I would like. Although I haven’t noticed it drying out my already parched areas, I’d obviously recommend this for people who suffer with oilier complexions. If you have drier skin & have tried this I’d love to know how you got on!
